We gave up and I said ok, let's just drive to one of the public charging
stations. There are 2 or 3 in Minsk. We did, and once we arrived the guys
from http://www.e-cars.by - who operate the charger - approached us.
Unfortunately the station was not compatible with European type 2 sockets,
so we couldn't charge. But Grigori and his very friendly and helpful team
invited us to their office (see pics of previous blog post) for coffee and
called and managed everything for us. In the end we had a working, detailed
GPS software for Belarus (Tesla doesn't work properly) and they put us in
touch with Artur from Minsk, another Tesla driver (there are about 6-7
Tesla drivers in Belarus), and Artur allowed us to use his 16A red plug
charger at his home. We drove there and the car will be charging over
night. Thanks to e-cars.by and Artur!
Tesla goes East - from Germany to Russia by electric car (well, at least we will give it a try! :-) ). As usual, with live GPS tracking and hopefully more often than not, live video streaming. In July 2015 I made my drivers license - motivated by Model S and Bjørn's videos - just to be able to drive an electric car. Since I got my MS in 08/2015 I have driven 66k km thanks to SuCs. But Supercharging gets boring, so we gotta try something more exciting. Let's try to find red plugs in the East...
Live tracking
Click on the marker to see our current speed, altitude etc. Updates automatically approx. every 60 seconds. If you click anywhere on the driven track (blue) and then show track profile you can see the elevation and velocity profile of the last hours/days.
Wow, it certainly became a challenge to get your car charged! Good luck :)
